@hyde I guess that's because of popularity. Tools like signal-cli exists nowadays, so it makes it easy to scam existing phonenumbers. Might be very hard to track where they got the phonenumbers from.

In .nl many people are freelancer, it's very easy to get phonenumbers from a central registry.


Dont know how signal.cli works ...

People who got the messages are not freelancers at all ... Random people around me.

@hyde I was just sketching an example. Signal-cli is just a commandline app that can register a number and send messages over signal.

The origin of the phonenumber list isn't deducible. My example is just one way of gathering phonenumbers to send spam to.
